Kim Harrison, Ph.D. serves as the Website Coordinator for the CMCCF. She began her career in academia earning a Ph.D. in contemporary French literature and cultural studies from the University of Leeds, UK, and teaching at universities in England, France, and Canada. While living in Vancouver she transitioned to the field of Communications and worked as the Communications Coordinator for Place des Arts, a non-profit arts and culture centre in Coquitlam, BC. Shortly after the birth of her first child, she began working as a freelance communications and copywriter, partnering with organizations to help tell their stories, strengthen their brand presence, and articulate their vision in meaningful ways.
While Kim still occasionally takes on client work, her focus in recent years has shifted towards her own creative writing and poetry. She is passionate about the transformative power of stories and storytelling, and in all her endeavours she is committed to creating space for all voices to be heard.
Kim has lived in British Columbia, Quebec, and Newfoundland since moving to Canada twenty years ago. She currently calls St. John’s, NL home.
